UPDATE: 524 N Maple Fire
MPD has charged John Daniel Carothers (2/10/1966) with attempted first degree murder and MFRD has charged him with eight counts of reckless endangerment and one count of aggravated arson following a fire at 524 N Maple Street Saturday morning.
MFRD crews arrived on scene to find heavy smoke showing from the left side of the structure. One patient was transported by Rutherford County EMS ambulance to Vanderbilt Medical Center with significant burns. The patient is currently in critical, but stable condition.
The fire was contained to the front, left room of the structure.
No other injuries were associated with this incident.
