Vara Ruth Workman Williams obituary
Vara Ruth Workman Williams, age 90, of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022.
A native of Clinton, KY, she was the daughter of the late J. T. Workman, Sr., and Betty Louise Davis Workman. Mrs. Williams was also preceded in death by her husband, Olin O. Williams, MD and a brother, J. T. Workman, Jr.
Mrs. Williams is survived by her daughters, Deborah Williams, Kathy Jones and her husband Bill, and Libby Willis all of Murfreesboro, TN; brother, Wilson Workman of Clinton, KY; sister, Rita Deweese of Clinton, KY; grandchildren, Alison Jones Lightcap and her husband Dustin, Olin Taylor Williams and his wife Lori, James Sutton Jones and his wife Melissa, and Robert Evan Willis, III; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, February 19, 2022, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with The Rev. Michael Whitnah officiating. Visitation will follow the Celebration of Life service at the church.
Mrs. Williams was a retired operating room nurse. She was an active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, involved in the Episcopal Church Women, the Altar Guild, and Rose Garden. She was also involved in the Rutherford County Hospital Auxiliary, and the Charity Circle of Murfreesboro. Mrs. Williams especially enjoyed spending time and traveling with her husband, grandchildren, and many wonderful friends.
