Wawa Announces Grand Opening Date for First Murfreesboro Location

Wawa is officially coming to Murfreesboro, Tennessee, with its first location opening Thursday, September 10, on Veterans Parkway across from Publix and just off Interstate 840.

Before the official grand opening, Wawa will host a special Taste of Wawa event on Wednesday, September 9, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Guests will get a chance to sample Wawa favorites, including its famous hoagies, and see what the company says will be the first Wawa hoagie made in Tennessee.

On grand opening day, the first 250 customers will receive a free Wawa T-shirt, and free coffee will be available to customers throughout the day. A ribbon-cutting ceremony with local officials is also scheduled for 8:30 a.m.

This location is expected to be the first of five Wawa stores planned for Murfreesboro. Wawa also plans to open approximately 50 locations across Tennessee over the next 10 years, representing nearly $400 million in investment and creating close to 2,000 jobs.
