You Can Make a Difference in Our Community

“The Big Payback is a 24-hour online giving event that helps organizations like the Child Advocacy Center raise funds and bring awareness to their cause,” said Development Coordinator Katie Enzor.

The Child Advocacy Center and other Middle Tennessee non-profit agencies are participating in the 2021 Big Payback. This is the 8th year that the annual event has been hosted. It begins on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. and continues until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2021.

The Big Payback, hosted by The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, is a community-wide giving day which shines a spotlight on local giving and motivates Middle Tennessee to “give back” to nonprofits in a big way. The Community Foundation’s mission is to “to promote and facilitate giving in the 40 counties of Middle Tennessee and beyond.”

The Community Foundation accomplishes this by accepting gifts of any size and by empowering individuals, families, companies, civic organizations, and communities to respond to needs and make a difference in the community. From 2014 through 2020, Middle Tennesseans have come together to raise nearly $21 million from a total of 147,642 donations for more than 1,000 nonprofit agencies, schools, and religious institutions.

“The Child Advocacy Center never closed our doors and stopped serving children and families during the pandemic,” continued Enzor. “In fact, child abuse reporting increased 24% from July to December 2020.”

The Child Advocacy Center works as a multi-disciplinary team with the Department of Children’s Services, law enforcement, and the District Attorney’s Office to respond to child abuse, child sexual abuse, and drug endangered children cases. In the last 21 years, the team has assisted 10.8% of the population of Rutherford and Cannon Counties.

Every gift you give during the Big Payback could be boosted by cash prizes. For example, when the Big Payback kicks off from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. the non-profit agency that has raised the most funds in the small organizations category will receive $1,500.

“We hope you will support the Child Advocacy Center of Rutherford County, Inc. on May 5-6!” concluded Enzor, “Visit the website at https://www.thebigpayback.org/fundraise/5706/support-child-advocacy-center-of-rutherford-co to make a contribution.”
