2017 Old Timers Festival “Our Roots Run Deep”

The City of La Vergne is excited to announce the 2017 Old Timers Festival, to be held Saturday September 9th with the theme “Our Roots Run Deep.” Rutherford County’s first female Mayor, Shirley Winfree, will serve as the grand marshal of the parade. “The best part of the Old Timers Festival is everyone in La Vergne coming together, setting aside their differences, and getting involved in the festival”,  said Winfree. The line-up for the parade will be at 9am on Saturday the 9th at La Vergne City Hall – the parade will end at Veterans Memorial Park, which is the site of the day-long festival.

In addition, the City is excited to announce that the carnival is back this year! Families will have the opportunity to enjoy carnival rides and games from Wednesday September 6th through Saturday September 9th. Craft and food vendors will be available. On Saturday, live entertainment will start at 11:30am. Bands featured this year are: Mike Oldham and The Funky McFly’s, Wild Blue Yonder, and more! Last year, Old Timers Festival brought in over 5,000 people – organizers are expecting this year’s festival to be even bigger! Please join us as we celebrate our roots and 45 years of incorporation!
