Celebration Under the Stars July 4th Fireworks

The 2026 Celebration Under the Stars: A Sparkling Salute to 250 Years powered by the City of Murfreesboro and Middle Tennessee Electric will be held at the Fountains at Gateway on Saturday, July 4. Food trucks, music and family activities will begin at 4:30 p.m. John Foster will take the Fountains Stage at 7:30 p.m.  The fireworks display will begin at about 9 p.m.

The community is encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for picnicking on the grass at the Fountains, 1500 Medical Center Parkway, beginning at 4:30 p.m. Fireworks will be launched from a field at Gateway Island near The Fountains at Gateway.

Road Closure and Traffic Flow Information

  • Parking is free and is first come at the Fountains as well as directly across Medical Center Blvd in a grassy area.
  • Beginning at 8:30 p.m., Medical Center Parkway from Broad Street to Thompson Lane will be closed to traffic.
  • Medical Center Parkway will be closed between Searcy Street and Gateway Boulevard from 8:55 p.m. until completion of the fireworks show.
  • After the fireworks show, vehicles must turn right out of parking lots to head toward Thompson Lane or Broad Street.

For safety purposes, pets, alcoholic beverages, cooking grills and personal fireworks or sparklers are not permitted on the celebration site.

Sponsors of the event include Middle Tennessee Electric (Presenting Sponsor), the City of Murfreesboro, Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation, Murfreesboro Police Department and Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department.
