Tennessee Signs $9.2 Billion I-24 Choice Lanes Deal
Tennessee has officially signed a contract with DriveTN for the massive I-24 Choice Lanes project between Nashville and Murfreesboro.
The project will add two new toll lanes in each direction along approximately 26 miles of I-24, while the existing general-purpose lanes will remain free to use.
DriveTN will design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Choice Lanes, with estimated project costs of approximately $9.2 billion. The group also projected $24.8 billion in concession value to Tennessee over the life of the partnership.
The next major step is financial close, expected around mid-2027, when the project's financing and capital structure will be finalized.
In this video, we break down what has been announced, what still needs to happen before construction can begin, and what we currently know about how the Choice Lanes will work.
