MTSU and Gaylord Opryland Bring Holiday Magic and Literacy to Murfreesboro Students

Students at Homer Pittard Campus School in Murfreesboro got a special dose of holiday magic thanks to a partnership between Middle Tennessee State University's College of Education and Gaylord Opryland!

The event celebrated POMP, SNOW & CIRQUEumstance, a children's book written by author and Broadway director Neil Goldberg. The story has also inspired a live holiday production coming to Gaylord Opryland this season.

Students enjoyed a live reading by performers, a sneak peek at the upcoming production, and the opportunity to meet the cast. Even better, 400 copies of the book were provided to the school, giving students the chance to take the magic of reading home with them.

Hear from MTSU representatives and Neil Goldberg about how this partnership came together, the importance of childhood literacy, and how storytelling can inspire creativity and imagination in young readers.

Through community partnerships like this, MTSU continues to make a difference in the lives of local students while encouraging a lifelong love of reading.
