American Red Cross of Tennessee Announces 2026 Nissan Heroes Luncheon

The American Red Cross of Tennessee is proud to announce the 14th annual Nissan Heroes Luncheon, presented by Ascend Federal Credit Union and Ole South Properties on March 12.
The luncheon is an annual celebration honoring extraordinary individuals whose courage, compassion and service have made a meaningful impact on the lives of others throughout Middle Tennessee. Each year, the Nissan Heroes Luncheon shines a spotlight on community members who embody the Red Cross mission and inspire others through their selfless actions.
This year’s event will honor John Floyd, founder and owner of Ole South Properties, a visionary whose influence reaches far beyond the homes he builds. His business success is matched by a deep commitment to community—donating over $5 million through the John Floyd Charitable Foundation to organizations supporting children and families, including Special Kids, Boys & Girls Club and Good Shepherd’s Children’s Home. He has also championed vocational education, helping revitalize building trades programs in local schools.
Also being recognized is Heart of Tennessee chapter Board Emeritus and dedicated volunteer Terry Smith, who will receive the Volunteer of the Year Award. Terry’s Red Cross journey began 12 years ago when a colleague saw her passion for service and encouraged her to join the board. This recommendation sparked years of meaningful impact in the community.
“We look forward to recognizing this year’s Hero and Volunteer of the Year and also sharing stories that reflect the very best of our community,” said John Mitchell, Executive Director for the Heart of Tennessee chapter of the American Red Cross. “Their selflessness demonstrates the true heart of our mission.”
Guests at the luncheon will hear moving accounts of local humanitarian efforts and learn how their support directly powers the Red Cross mission—providing disaster relief, supporting military families, collecting lifesaving blood and equipping neighbors with essential preparedness and lifesaving skills.
