On Tuesday, February 19, at approximately 8:23 a.m. uniformed officers responded to the 1500 block of Bradberry Drive in reference to a subject breaking into a vehicle.
Upon arrival, witnesses told officers the suspect ran into a nearby wooded area.
Murfreesboro Police K-9 officers were deployed and were able to track the suspect. Officer pursued the suspect on foot and spotted him about three miles from the original crime scene. He was successfully taken into custody with the assistance of Rutherford County Sheriff’s deputies.
A weapon, believed to have been stolen from the vehicle, was recovered.
As precautionary, nearby schools were placed on lock-down until the suspect could be arrested.
