Bark Park closed for improvements
Improvements to the Bark Park at the General Bragg Trailhead on West College Street will begin October 14 and will continue for approximately five weeks. The improvements, funded by a grant from the Randy Boyd Foundation, include
- Dog agility equipment
- Artistic and functional water stations
- A second official dog park entrance
- Improved terrain
- Additional seating and signage.
“The Bark Park has been a popular venue for dogs and their owners for many years,” said Jennifer Joines, Better Boro Project coordinator with Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation. “The grant will allow us to make much needed improvements to the park.”
Joines encourages dog owners to visit the dog park at the Cason Trailhead during this time.
“The Cason Trailhead dog park was created in 2017 to reduce the wear and tear of the original Bark Park. It also gives dog owners an alternative while we make the improvements.”
Partners of the improvement project include Doggies Day Out, Pet Safari, MTSU Concrete Dept., and the City of Murfreesboro.
