Becky Young Obituary

Rebecca Ann “Becky” Young, age 58, was born in Carthage, Tennessee on March 29, 1965. She was a longtime resident of Milton and passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, after a long and strong fight with cancer, with her family at her side. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and “GG” to her family.

Becky is survived by her parents, James and Ann Hindsley; her husband of 38 years, Mitch; children, Nicole Young of Murfreesboro, Lindsey Lackey and husband Jonathan, and Chad Young and wife Jessica, all of Milton; grandchildren, Lexi, Waylon, Aidan, Owen, and Walker; brothers, James Donald Hindsley and Jeff Hindsley; mother-in-law, Peggy Young; and a host of other loving family and friends. Becky was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Howard and Flossie Hindsley; maternal grandparents, William and Lena Ellis; and father-in-law, Charles E. Young.

Becky was loved by everyone. She was a longtime member of Lascassas Baptist Church and retired in 2023 from the Human Resources department at MTSU after twenty-two years of service. She enjoyed living on land that was once her grandparents’ farm, going to church, spending time with her family, and beach vacations when the weather was warm.

Visitation with the Young family will be at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, Sunday, November 26, 2023, from 2:00pm until 6:00pm. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Pastor Kenneth Summey officiating. Burial will follow in Milton Cemetery with Chad Young, Jonathan Lackey, Jeff Hindsley, James Donald Hindsley, Butch Young, Charlie Young, Houston Dorris, and Greg Batey serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Waylon Lackey, Aidan Rollins, Owen Rollins, and Walker Young.
