Central Magnet hosting mock accident next Thursday

This year Central Magnet School has partnered with Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in a year-long anti-texting while driving campaign called “Be In The Zone – Turn Off your Phone.”

The school has been with the hospital throughout this school year to educate our students on the dangers associated with distracted driving. The campaign is sponsored by the AllState Foundation and Ford Motor Company Fund and Community Services.

As part of our campaign, we are working with Rutherford County EMS, Murfreesboro Fire and Police Departments, Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office and Vanderbilt Lifeflight to conduct a mock accident on Thursday morning, March 12. The mock accident will be followed by an assembly with Doug and Pat Ralls of Brentwood who lost their son in a distracted driving accident in 2009.

For additional information, please contact the school directly at 615-904-6789.
