Charity Casino Night Raises Over $30,000.00 for Charitable Giving

Kimberly Foundation Grant Awards

The Kimberly Family Foundation held its Charity Casino Night on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2022, at the Stones River Country Club in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Thanks to the generous financial support from the Rutherford and Cannon County Bar Association, Compass Insurance Group, and many other community partners, the event raised over $30,000.00 for charitable giving, half of which is scheduled to be given away this year, and half of which will be invested for future giving campaigns.

“Our mission is to support agencies that fight against poverty, hunger, and homelessness,” said Murfreesboro Lawyer Scott Kimberly, who serves as Board Chairman for the Foundation. “We are incredibly proud of the awards that we have approved this year and we hope that this financial support makes an impact in our community.”

The Kimberly Family Foundation has approved grants to four local nonprofit agencies: $5,000.00 to the Rutherford County Recovery Court Fund; $3,500.00 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Rutherford County; $3,500.00 to the Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee; and $3,000.00 to Second Harvest Food Bank. Each agency has shared how these gifts impact the community, which are included below.“

The reason this gift is so important is because the Recovery Court Foundation Board is able to assist participants that are just released from jail obtain housing and essentials for a few months until they get back on their feet. Without help from the Board, these participants would be homeless and their ability to be successful is diminished.” Hon. Lisa Eischeid, Presiding Judge, Rutherford County Recovery Court.

“We are ever so grateful for the generosity and love for our Clubs shared by the Kimberly Foundation. This gift helps provide the means for families who need help to ensure their children have a safe place after school to learn, grow, and thrive. We want to provide every child an opportunity to reach their full potential in life and are planting seeds of success in children because of this kindness and support.” Sheryl Chesnutt, Chief Executive Officer, Boys & Girls Clubs of Rutherford County.

“We are very thankful for the Kimberly Family Foundation for their commitment to access to justice. Free legal services to protect domestic violence victims, to prevent homelessness, or to remove barriers to employment can only happen when good people stand up on their behalf. Legal Aid Society is grateful for The Kimberly Family Foundation’s generosity and commitment to solving these issues in our community.” DarKenya Waller, Executive Director, Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands.

“The Kimberly Family Foundation is a dedicated partner of Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. Thanks to this generous gift and their continued support over the years, we are able to advance our mission of providing food to people facing hunger and working to advance hunger solutions across Rutherford County and the rest of our 46-county service area.” Nancy Keil, President and CEO, Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.
