Chris Holladay Scofield obituary

Mrs. Chris Holladay Scofield passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 24, 2019. She gracefully exited this world surrounded by her family in Madison, AL. She was born to Johnnie Graden Holladay Senior and Eula Mai Marberry Holladay on November, 16, 1927 in Huntingdon, TN.

Mrs. Scofield was preceded in death by her first husband; William Charles Mitchell; her daughters; Dianne Mitchell, Carol Christine Scofield (Igney); a son, William Charles Scofield; and brother, Johnnie Graden Hollday, Junior.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bruce Allen Scofield; son U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Bradley Bruce Scofield and wife Gena Wade Scofield of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren, Michael William Igney and wife Tina Rashi Igney of Smyrna, TN; Andrew Bradley Scofield of San Pedros, CA; U.S. Army Specialist Adam Richard Scofield of Barstow, CA; U.S. Army Sergeant Alexander William Scofield and wife Jessica Scofield of Hinesville, GA; Annalee Bradyn Scofield of Huntsville, AL; great grandchildren, Carson Michael Igney and Isabella Christina Igney of Smyrna, TN, Emma LeAnn Scofield of Huntsville, AL; and nephew Johnnie Graden Holladay III and wife Julie Holladay of Lexington, TN.

Mrs. Scofield lived the majority of her life in Christiana, TN after having moved from Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1979. She was an avid traveler who visited her military family members often in Germany, Korea, Hawaii, North Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Alabama, and Georgia. Early in her career, she served as a Real Estate Manager in Rockford, Illinois and later as an Elementary School Administrator in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Visitation will be Monday, January 28, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of funeral services beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Bro. Don Russell will officiate, and burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
