City Construction Projects for October 1 through October 7
Bridge over Broad Street TDOT Project (Est Substantial Completion Dec, 2017)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 pm to 6:00 am: There will be alternating lane closures on NW Broad Street, Memorial Blvd, Old Fort Pkwy and Ridgley Road for construction of the new Overpass. There will be lane shifts and traffic interruptions. At all times, one lane will remain open in each direction. Broadmor Blvd is closed to through traffic for construction work. W Lytle Street at Broad St is opened to traffic and is restricted to right-in and right-out movements only. Westbound traffic has been shifted to the north side to align with the newly constructed ramp. On Broad St, the northbound and southbound left turn movements can only be made during a protected turn signal phase. Appropriate traffic controls and detours will be in-place.
Middle Tennessee Widening Project (Greenland Dr to E Main St) (Est Substantial Completion August, 2018)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: Traffic on Middle Tennessee Blvd is reduced to two-lanes two-way between E Main St and Greenland Dr. E Lytle St is closed at Middle Tennessee Blvd. The section of E Lytle St between N Bilbro Ave and Middle Tennessee Blvd is only open to local traffic. Appropriate traffic control will be in place.
Rutherford County Judicial Center Project (between Burton St and Lytle St) (Est Substantial Completion June, 2018)
Expected Lane Closures: Wednesday, July 20, 2016 – June 30, 2018: As part of the Rutherford County Judicial Center construction, Burton St between Maple St and Church St will be closed to traffic to make roadway improvements. Burton St traffic will be detoured onto College St. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.
W Lytle Street Roadway Improvement Project (Baker St to Church St) (Est Substantial Completion Aug, 2018)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: W Lytle Street will be closed to through traffic between Walnut St and Front St for construction work. N Maple St between W Lytle St and Olive St and W Lytle St between N Maple St and N Church St will be closed to through traffic until end of September 30, 2017. Access driveways to local businesses will be kept open. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
Medical Center Pkwy at GreshamPark Dr Turn Lane Improvement Project (Est Substantial Completion October, 2017)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 am: The Contractor for the City of Murfreesboro will be paving the eastbound left turn lane on Medical Center Pkwy at GreshamPark Dr. Eastbound traffic on Medical Center Pkwy will be reduced from two lanes to one lane. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place. Westbound traffic will not be affected.
Medical Center Pkwy at Gateway Blvd Signalization and Turn Lane Improvement Project (Est Substantial Completion Dec, 2017)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm: The Contractor for the City of Murfreesboro will be grading and paving the westbound right turn lane on Medical Center Pkwy at Gateway Blvd. Westbound and eastbound traffic on Medical Center Pkwy at Gateway Blvd will be reduced from two lanes to one lane. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
Haynes Dr at Memorial Blvd Roadway Improvement Project (Est Substantial Completion October, 2017)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm: The Contractor for the City of Murfreesboro will be adding an additional through lane on Haynes Dr (eastbound) at Memorial Blvd. There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions during the milling process on Haynes Dr. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
Northfield Blvd at Heritage Park Dr Median Improvement Project (Est Substantial Completion October, 2017)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm: The Contractor for the City of Murfreesboro will be modifying the median on Northfield Blvd at Heritage Park Dr. There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
Murfreesboro Water Resources Rehabilitation Work
1) Bradyville Pike at Minerva Dr – 10/3 & 10/4
2) Kirkwood Ave between 1218 and 1214 Kirkwood Ave – 10/2 & 10/3
3) Southgate Blvd between Warrior Dr and 2482 Southgate Blvd – 10/3 & 10/4
4) Stoney Meadow Ct between 2002 and 2006 Stoney Meadow Ct – 10/2 & 10/3
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm: The contractor for Murfreesboro Water Resources Department will be making sewer manhole repairs. There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
Private Development Natural Gas Main Extension (Sulphur Springs Rd near Memorial Blvd)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday & Tuesday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm: Contractor for the private development will be extending the natural gas main on Sulphur Springs Rd. There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
Roadway Improvement Project (Blaze Dr between Brinkley Rd and Stover Glen)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: Contractor for City of Murfreesboro will be paving Blaze Dr between Brinkley Rd and Stovers Glen. There will be lane shifts and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
Roadway Improvement Project (Haynes Dr between Thompson Ln and Wiltshire Dr)
Expected Lane Closures: 7:00 am Saturday, September 30 through 8:00 pm Sunday, October 1: Contractor for City of Murfreesboro will be milling Haynes Dr between Thompson Ln and Wiltshire Dr. Haynes Dr will be closed to through traffic. Traffic on Haynes Drive will be detoured onto Wiltshire Dr and Thompson Ln. Local residents will have access at all times. Appropriate detours and traffic controls will be in place.
City of Murfreesboro Fiber Optic Project (E Main St between Church St and Highland Ave)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: Contractor for City of Murfreesboro will be performing preliminary underground conduit work along E Main Street. There will be lane shifts and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
Traffic Signal Loop Repair Work (Old Fort Pkwy and Rucker Ln)
Expected Lane Closures: Saturday, September 30: Contractor for City of Murfreesboro will be re-installing pavement sensors (signal loops) at Old Fort Pkwy and Rucker Ln. There will be lane shifts and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
