The Murfreesboro City Council agreed unanimously Monday, Dec. 18, 2017, to a Separation Agreement with Rob Lyons that includes a 6-month current salary severance and medical insurance payout totaling $95,810.39.

Under the Separation Agreement, Lyons releases any claims he may have with the City and agrees to assist the City with a seamless transition as it searches for a new City Manager.

The Council vote in a Special Meeting at City Hall came after City Legal Department staff provided the Council with a copy of the Agreement.

Rob Lyons resigned Friday, Dec. 15 to pursue other opportunities, announcing his decision to staff at 8:30 a.m. after submitting his resignation to the Mayor and City Council.

Under details of the Separation and Release of Claims Agreement, Lyons will receive regular pay for time worked that includes one full bi-weekly paycheck ($6,685.12) and a partial bi-weekly paycheck ($3,342.56) for December 2017.
