Crush the Crisis 2021 Was a Huge Success

TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center joined their TriStar Health sister facilities in Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky and together collected 858 pounds of medication during “Crush the Crisis.” These opioid take-back day events were held on Saturday, October 23, 2021.

The TriStar StoneCrest “Crush the Crisis” event aligned with the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day and took place in partnership with the outstanding support of the STOP deputies from the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office Strategies and Tactics for Opioid Prevention Unit. The Stop Unit was created out of grant funds received from the U.S. Department of Justice. The goal of the program is to reduce opioid dependency through education, intervention, prevention, and treatment.

During the event, Joe Gleason, COO of TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center, presented Deputies Evan Sharp and Ben Baldwin with the HCA Challenge Coin for their dedication in providing #healthiertomorrows for our community and their unwavering conviction to improve the lives of those suffering from addiction.

TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center collected 104 pounds of medication. The grand total for all TriStar Health during the “Crush the Crisis” event resulted in 858 pounds of medications removed from our communities.
