Crystal Bear Trail Shooting/Stabbing

UPDATE: Murfreesboro Police Officers were dispatched to a home in the 1000 block of Crystal Bear Trail at approximately 11:31 p.m., March 7, to a report of a possible domestic shooting and stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers discovered two victims with injuries. Chelley C. Olson, 45, of Murfreesboro, was suffering from a stab wound and Cory M. Thompson, 49, of Murfreesboro, had been shot.

Thompson’s treatment was started on scene by Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department and continued during transported by Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services (RCEMS) to the helipad at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital (STRH). He was then transported by Lifeflight to Vanderbilt Medical Center where he remains in critical condition. Olson was also treated on the scene by RCEMS and transported to STRH Emergency room where she was treated and later released.

The investigation is still on-going.


ORIGINAL RELEASE: Murfreesboro Police Department responded to a report of a domestic shooting/stabbing at a home on Crystal Bear Trail at 11:31 Thursday night.

Officers found two individuals with injuries, one shot, one stabbed.

Both transported to hospital. At this time, the shooting victim is listed in critical condition at Vanderbilt Medical Center. The stabbing victim treated for injuries at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital.

Not a random act, the individuals knew each other so, there is no danger to the public.

This is an on-going investigation so, no further information is available at this time.
