Deputy Pugh recognized for volunteer work with Explorers
Deputy Andy Pugh, who has advised Sheriff’s Law Enforcement Explorer Post 106 for seven years, received a plaque from Sheriff Mike Fitzhugh recognizing him for his commitment.
Pugh volunteers several hours every Thursday night to train about 25 Explorers ages 14-21 about law enforcement.
Ten Explorers captured several awards at the annual Winterfest competition for Explorers last month in Gatlinburg.
Besides learning about law enforcement, Explorers participate in Sheriff’s Office events such as volunteering for the Senior Citizens Awareness Network lunches and Halloween Trunk or Treat.
