Dr. Brian Smith, M.D. Joins MMC’s Gastroenterology Department

Dr. Brian Smith is a board certified Gastroenterologist who is skilled in general adult gastroenterology, including colon cancer screenings. Dr. Smith comes to us with more than 20 years of experience from his previous practice in North Carolina. He received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina and completed his Residency at Vanderbilt University. Immediately following his Residency, he completed his Fellowship in Gastroenterology at Vanderbilt University.

Dr. Smith joins a staff of skilled Gastroenterologist, including Drs. Knox, Hood and Laborde. MMC welcomes Dr. Smith, as well as the skills and special interests that he brings to the MMC team of physicians.

“Dr. Smith is a great additional to MMC and the Murfreesboro community. He brings over 20 years of experience to an established group of Gastroenterologists. We are excited to have him as part of our organization,” stated Chief Executive Officer, Joey Peay.

In his spare time, Dr. Smith enjoys live music, golf and anything TarHeels. He is also a proud father of two sons, Austin and Davis.
