DR. JOE WANDASS JOINS SAINT THOMAS MEDICAL PARTNERS – LENOX VILLAGE
Joe Wandass III, M.D., Ph.D. has joined Saint Thomas Medical Partners – Lenox Village at 6005 Nolensville Pike in Nashville. Dr. Wandass is board certified in internal medicine and pediatrics.
Dr. Wandass comes to Saint Thomas Medical Partners from Medical Home Primary Care where he was Medical Director, providing primary care services to employees and their dependents of a large Tennessee automotive supplier. Before coming to Tennessee, he was a primary care physician with Quaker Medical Associates in Orchard Park, New York, and Medical Director at Bertrand Chaffee Hospital Outpatient Health Centers in Springville, New York. He also was Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics at the State University of New York (SUNY) – Buffalo, in the Department of Medicine and Pediatrics in the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
Dr. Wandass received his medical degree magna cum laude from SUNY at Buffalo, where he also earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry. Before attending medical school, Dr. Wandass was appointed a National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow at the Naval Research Laboratory and also worked for the Dutch Chemical Company Akzo Nobel as a research scientist. Dr. Wandass is author or co-author of more than 20 scientific papers and holds a United States patent in magnetic sensor technology. He has received numerous awards for scientific research and teaching.
Outside his medical practice, Dr. Wandass enjoys writing, performing music with his son, practicing yoga, amateur radio and church activities.
