Drs. Lucy and Warren Langworthy named as co-chairs of the 2019 Rutherford Heart Ball
The Rutherford County American Heart Association recently welcomed Drs. Lucy and Warren Langworthy as the co-chairs for the 2019 Rutherford Heart Ball set for February 9, 2019 at the Embassy Suites in Murfreesboro, TN. Additionally, longtime Rutherford County resident and businessman, Mr. Jimmy Jobe, will be the evening’s honoree as a survivor of heart disease.
Drs. Lucy and Warren Langworthy have been an integral part of the Murfreesboro community since 1989 when they planted roots in Rutherford County. A devoted physician, Dr. Warren Langworthy, of Middle Tennessee Family Medicine, believes that one of the greatest attributes a doctor can possess is a strong ability to listen to patients. He has been honored to serve as Middle Tennessee Medical Center’s Chief of Staff, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation board member and Major Contributor to the Dispensary of Hope. Dr. Lucy Langworthy, who earned her Ph.D in English/Technical Writing, has devoted her life to academia, currently serving at the Assistant to the Dean at Middle Tennessee State University’s College of Liberal Arts.
The Langworthys, along with their three children, are committed to the health and well-being of their much-loved community of Rutherford County and share the American Heart Association’s mission of fighting for longer, healthier lives.
“Serving as the chairs of a community fundraising event like the American Heart Association’s Rutherford Heart Ball has made us appreciate our thriving county and its people more than ever,” states the Langworthys. “They have shown up over the past few months with their time, creativity, donations, and auction items to support the good work of the American Heart Association and to honor our beloved friend and local businessman, Jimmy Jobe. These efforts will culminate in a fun night of eating, dancing and fundraising on February 9th as we celebrate the successes of the American Heart Association and challenge our community to imagine what more can be done to diminish the effects of heart disease.”
The evening’s honoree, Mr. Jimmy Jobe, a renowned local CPA at Jobe, Hastings & Associates, has over 30 years of experience under his belt. He currently serves as a director on the board on National Health Investors, Inc. Mr. Jobe is extremely active in the community having served on multiple boards including the Boys and Girls Clubs of Rutherford County, the Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital Foundation and the Business/Education Partnership of Rutherford County. He and his wife, Donna, have two children and two grandchildren, with a third on the way! They reside in Murfreesboro, TN.
For more than 45 years, the Heart Ball has supported the American Heart Association’s mission of being a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives. This year, with a record-breaking 500+ attendees expected, the Rutherford Heart Ball was designed by Lori Sain Smith of Daffodilly Design and will feature live music by Emerald Empire Band and a silent auction featuring an autographed David Price Boston Red Sox jersey.
