Emerson Kate Ayers obituary

Miss Emerson Kate Ayers, age 16 months, was freed from her struggles on Monday, August 19, 2019. She was born on March 28, 2018 in Hermitage, TN to Jason and Tenley Ayers. Emerson loved to play with her sister and explore the world with her eyes. She was a happy baby with a contagious smile and laugh. Emerson was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her. In her short time, she taught many people many things.

Emerson is survived by her parents, Jason and Tenley Coleman Ayers; sister, Adley Ray Ayers all of Murfreesboro, TN; grandparents, Alan and Terri Ayers of Murfreesboro, Tim and Cindy Coleman of Goodlettsville, TN, and Sandy and Chris Workman of Lascassas, TN; great-grandparents, Paul and Betty Coleman of Hendersonville, TN and Sandra Watkins of Waverly, TN; aunts, Michelle and Nathan Corum of Manchester, TN, Aly Workman and Skye Workman of Lascassas; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Bob and Norma York, Jerry Watkins, and Kenneth and Jean Marie Ayers.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday, August 22, 2019 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 23, 2019 at 2:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Rev. Steve Odom will officiate. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at TriStar Centennial Children’s Hospital for their care of Emerson during her journey.
