Park Day 2020 Volunteer Event

How would you like to spend a Saturday morning helping preserve part of our nation’s history while getting a free lunch and a t-shirt? Stones River National Battlefield calls upon our friends and neighbors to join us and our partners at the Old Fort Park picnic pavilion on Saturday April 18, 2020 as we work to remove trash and invasive exotic plants from Fortress Rosecrans, Old Fort Park and the Lytle Creek Greenway.
We are asking individuals and groups to register at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/murfreesboros-park-day-volunteer-event-tickets-88344690347 by April 10, 2020. We have a limited capacity to supervise this project and will close registration once we have registered 200 volunteers.
We will need groups of six or more to have one person per every 6-8 volunteers attend one of our Squad Boss training sessions and learn how to lead their fellow volunteers in the day’s work. You can register to be a Squad Boss at the same link.
Check-In Begins: 8:30 AM
Lunch Provided by the Friends of the Stones River National Battlefield and Walmart: 12:30 PM
Volunteers should wear long sleeve shirts, long pants, and closed-toe shoes. We also recommend you bring your own work gloves and water bottles.
