RAA presents “Party of Twelve” by Mary Donnet Johnson matinee

Party of Twelve is just one of the many arts projects being produced under the umbrella of the group, Leading Ladies of Rutherford County History.  This community partnership was first created by Rutherford County Arts Alliance to give voice to women from the past who have shaped our history and culture and is now providing an ever-widening platform of opportunity for many other arts and cultural community organizations to be heard.

Written in the style of magical realism with a generous dose of humor, Party of Twelve takes us through a vivid dream that a modern-day MTSU student has which is populated by a diverse group of powerful women from our community’s past.  Over the course of about an hour, these vivid figures burst forth from the dusty archives to speak truth about all their struggles, pain, triumphs, and joy.  Party of Twelve is a vibrant celebration that will touch your heart, resonate in your mind, and spark important conversations for a long time to come.

There will be a time of community dialogue immediately following the play and a quick meeting with the RAA members and interested persons.
