Murfreesboro Gets New Crime Fighting Technology
The Murfreesboro Police Department is taking the final steps towards the completion of a new Real Time Crime Center (RTCC). The RTCC will feature cutting-edge technologies including Automatic License Plate Readers (ALPR) and Public Safety Camera systems.
The department is also pursuing the addition of gunshot detection technology that utilizes acoustic sensors to detect and locate gunshots in real time. ALPRs have been installed in various locations across the City of Murfreesboro.
Public Safety Camera systems will soon be installed in various locations around the city. Camera locations were based primarily on violent crime data or in areas where a specific need has been identified.
