Groundbreaking Ceremony for One Stop Driver Services Center Rutherford County
Rutherford County Government and the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security are pleased to announce the upcoming groundbreaking ceremony for Rutherford County’s One Stop Driver Services Center to be constructed in the Blackman area.
The ceremony will take place at the corner of Fortress Boulevard and Blaze Drive at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 21.
State and local dignitaries will be attending and participating in the event that celebrates the commitment of state and local government to expand services to meet the needs of Rutherford County citizens.
“The County Commission, County Clerk Lisa Duke Crowell, and I recognized the need for another location in Rutherford County to alleviate some of the overwhelming demand for services at our downtown location,” said Mayor Bill Ketron. “We worked with the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security to make this happen, as we have a common goal of streamlining this process and making it more convenient for our residents to obtain their tags and other important documents.”
“We are excited to break ground on a new Driver Services Center in Rutherford County said Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security Commissioner Jeff Long. “This ground breaking is a testament of a joint venture between city, county and state leaders whose common goal is to provide a driver services center for the people of Murfreesboro and Rutherford County. When leaders come together for the common good of serving their constituents, great things can and will be accomplished.”
Rutherford County Clerk Lisa Duke Crowell states, “The One Stop in Blackman will provide citizens with another option and location for their clerk services needs,” noting that every aspect of motor vehicle tagging, licensing, and titling will be available at the new location.
The building will house two drive-through windows for tag renewals and offers a 24-hour tag renewal kiosk.
“We will also provide marriage license and U.S. passport services,” Crowell explains. “I am so grateful to Mayor Ketron, our County Commission, and state partners for supporting the expansion of clerk services to meet our county’s needs.”
