Harriett Griggs Obituary
Mrs. Harriett Elaine Griggs, age 77, of Nashville, TN passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024. She was born in Nashville to the late George and Eleanor Little Perkins. Mrs. Griggs was a graduate of Antioch High School. She retired from Martha C. Child Law Office as a legal secretary. Mrs. Griggs grew up going to McKendree United Methodist Church and most recently attended Christ Church in Nashville.
Despite her lengthy battle with COPD, Mrs. Griggs maintained a fierce spirit in order to be with and enjoy her family throughout this journey. She loved everyone and had the most positive outlook on life. Mrs. Griggs never complained and always wanted to do for her family, even when she was no longer able. She always had a giving heart – always welcoming the friends and families of all those she encountered through the years. Mrs. Griggs immediately treated any friends of her children or grandchildren like her own. You could always find her at school events, band competitions, cheer competitions, baseball and football games. She will be dearly missed.
Mrs. Griggs is survived by her husband of 44 years, Bobby Griggs, Sr.; children, Mark Anderson and his wife Regina, Tara Rose and her husband Brian, and Bobby Griggs, Jr. and his wife Erica; grandchildren, Brittany Anderson Garcia, Cameron Anderson, Hayden Griggs, Makena Griggs, and Zachary Rose; great grandchildren, John Cameron Anderson and River Garcia; brothers, George Perkins and his wife Gayle and David Perkins and his wife Terry; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be Friday, May 24, 2024 from 4:30pm until 6:00pm at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, May 24, 2024 at 6:00pm at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna.
