ABOUT THE READYVILLE MILL
The beautiful, historic Readyville Mill, restaurant and event venue consists of five newly restored buildings: The Grist Mill, the Granary, the Icehouse, the Miller’s Cabin, and the Smokehouse, all located on six idyllic acres along the Stones River in Cannon County, Tennessee.
The Mill is a continuing restoration in progress. Historically, mills were the machines that converted gravity driven water into mechanical power for doing work: grinding corn and wheat, sawing lumber, and generating electricity. The Readyville Mill has been restored to once again grind corn and wheat using electrical power, and it is open and available to visitors who are interested in seeing how a 19th Century mill works. There is nothing like the flavor of stone ground grits, cornmeal and whole wheat flour, and the Readyville Mill grinds all of those delicacies and more.
