Hops Half Marathon, Wawa Opens, MTSU Updates and Weekend Events
This week’s John & Jen Show is packed with local news, new businesses, food, upcoming events, MTSU updates, and plenty of laughs.
We’re talking about the opening of Wawa on Veterans Parkway, AutoZone’s 8,000th location, The Taco Shop’s new Smyrna location, MTSU’s $16 million Floyd Stadium seating upgrade, Table at Gregory’s, new fall flavors at Milkshake Factory, development happening near Thompson Lane and Broad Street, and MTSU’s new Live in the Burrow concert series.
Our special guest April Davis joins us to talk about the first Hops Half Marathon happening October 24 at Hop Springs. The 13.1-mile race will benefit the Child Advocacy Center, with a one-mile family run and virtual race option also available. Runners can expect a scenic course, race swag, a unique finisher medal, and a full fall festival at Hop Springs following the race.
We also run through several upcoming Middle Tennessee events, including Uncle Dave Macon Days, the Sam Davis Car Show, Sip Shop and Stroll in downtown Murfreesboro, the Candy Apple Fall Festival, Wine on the River, Music City Monster Bash, and the Health, Hot Rods and Veterans Fair.
Plus, John and Jen share where they were on September 11, 2001, tell a few stories from the MTSU football game, play Would You Rather, and somehow end up discussing giant rabbits, snakes, and a pyramid of toilet paper.
Thanks to Middle Tennessee Electric for sponsoring the John & Jen Show.
