Joseph D. Young obituary

Joseph D. Young, age 77 of Murfreesboro died Thursday January 17, 2019. He was a born in Paris, Il and lived most of his life in Rutherford Co. He was the son of the Ike Virgil Young, and Anna Gladys Miller Young, and was also preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Reynolds and her husband Jimmy, father-in-law, and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Lucille McKnight. Mr. Young was a member of the Church of Christ and a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Vietnam Conflict. He was retired from Samsonite in Murfreesboro.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Juanita Young; sisters-in-law, Linda Hall of Murfreesboro, Peggy Hollis and husband Robert of Murfreesboro; nephew, Les Messick and wife Kristin of Murfreesboro; nieces, Lori Cuneo and husband Stephen of Lascassas, Angela Wells and husband Kenneth, of Lascassas; great nephews, Cody Messick, Nick Messick and wife Casey; great nieces, Taylor and Sydney Cuneo, Christina Wells, and a host of family and friends.

Visitation 12noon Sunday until 2PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Graveside service 2PM Sunday at Evergreen Cemetery with Military Honors. Nicky Nichols and Bud Mitchell will officiate, family and friends will serve as pallbearers. www.woodfinchapel.com
