Lee Ann and Bart Walker to Serve as Murfreesboro Christmas Parade Grand Marshalls
After years of serving as parade coordinators, Lee Ann and Bart Walker will serve as Grand Marshalls of the 2022 Murfreesboro Christmas Parade. With the theme “Christmas Through the Years,” the parade starts from Main Street at Middle Tennessee State University on Sunday, Dec. 12, starting at 2 p.m. and ends at the Rutherford County Courthouse on the historic square.
After moving to Murfreesboro and purchasing WGNS News Radio with Bart in the fall of 1984, Lee Ann took over the coordination of the parade from the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce. Her vast experience coordinating large event, such as the Tennessee Craft Fair in Nashville, helped her to involve many local organizations to grow the parade over the past 35-plus years.
Over 160 parade entries including floats, marching bands, musical acts, and of course Santa in his sleigh will travel merrily down the route, spreading cheer and goodwill to the community.
The event is now coordinated by the City of Murfreesboro’s Parks and Recreation Department. For more information about the Christmas Parade, contact Rachel Singer at 615-642-3723 or [email protected], or visit the Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Facebook event page at @MurfreesboroParksandRec.
