Major Road Widening Coming to Thompson Lane

Big news for Murfreesboro drivers. Thompson Lane is set to undergo a massive $150 million widening project! The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) plans to expand the road to five lanes from Memorial Boulevard all the way to Broad Street, complete with sidewalks and a multi-use path (possibly for bikes).

While there’s no official start or end date yet, the project is currently in the bidding process and will include three bridges along the route. Utility relocation alone jumped from an estimated $3.5 million to a staggering $20 million, showing just how huge this project will be.
