Mamie Julie Williams Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Mamie Julie Williams. Born on August 2, 1940, Julie graced this world with her feisty spirit and steadfast love for 83 years before her departure on October 15, 2023. She leaves behind a constellation of family and friends who will remember her for her wit, directness, and immense capacity for love.

Mamie Julie Williams

Julie is survived by nephews, Joseph “Joey” Bullock and his companion Alexis Beal of Smyrna, TN and Jeffrey “Jeff” Bullock and his wife Mary of Murfreesboro, TN; sisters, Shirley Montgomery, Sandra Patton, and Sherry Nunley all of Murfreesboro, TN; brother, Sammy Neely of Murfreesboro, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Murphy Irvin, and Emma Victory Neely; husband, Samuel Edward “Buddy” Williams; sisters, Dorothy “Dot” Simpkins and Robbie “Inky” Gaither; and a brother, Irvin “Fat Rabbit” Neely.

Her greatest accomplishment, she might have argued, was her undying love for her husband, Buddy. Together, they were the embodiment of partnership and teamwork. They jointly owned and operated a market store on Manchester Hwy. which became a beacon of their shared dedication and diligence. Following this, Julie found fulfillment in her roles at the Co-op and NHC, where she brought her charm, hard work, and compassion.

Her life was a testament to the power of love, hard work, and a sprinkle of fun. She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten, as her spirit lives on in the lessons she imparted and the love she shared.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM Friday, October 20, 2023, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

An online guestbook for the Williams family is available at www.woodfinchapel.com.
