A convicted felon has been arrested by Murfreesboro Police Department Criminal Investigations Division homicide detectives accused of shooting to death a man over the weekend.

The shooter, Corey Lillard Sr., 44, has been charged with first-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, felony possession of a schedule II drug (suspected fentanyl), drug paraphernalia, and maintaining a dwelling for drug use.

The shooting happened around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 9.

The homicide is possibly related to a dispute between the parties.
