MCS Board Members Sworn In; Moore and Campbell Re-Elected to Leadership Roles
Murfreesboro City Schools welcomed three board members to new terms of office and elected its leadership team during the Board's meeting Tuesday evening.
Incumbent board members Amanda Moore, Barbara Long, and Karen Dodd were officially sworn in to serve new terms on the Murfreesboro City Schools Board of Directors. Following the swearing-in ceremony, board members unanimously selected Amanda Moore to continue serving as Board Chair and Butch Campbell as Vice Chair. Moore and Campbell will continue leading the seven-member governing board as it advances the district's strategic priorities.
“The work of public education depends on strong leadership and a shared commitment to students, families, and staff,” said Director of Schools Dr. Trey Duke. “We are grateful for the service of these dedicated board members and look forward to continuing the important work of providing exceptional educational opportunities for every child we serve.”
The Murfreesboro City Schools Board of Directors is composed of Chair Amanda Moore, Vice Chair Butch Campbell, Barbara Long, Karen Dodd, David Settles, Jimmy Richardson III, and Jeanette Price. Collectively, the board provides governance and strategic leadership for the district. The board's commitment to continuous improvement and effective governance was recently recognized through the Tennessee School Boards Association's Board of Distinction Award, a designation that honors excellence in leadership, planning, policy development, and board advancement.
