Meet new Small Business Development Center director at Locally Owned Murfreesboro breakfast

Join Locally Owned Murfreesboro and the Tennessee Small Business Development Center for breakfast at 8 a.m. Thursday, May 4 at the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce.

LOM has invited the new director of the TSBDC, Chris Swoner, to introduce himself to the community and explain what resources are offered by the center.

“Locally Owned Murfreesboro is excited to partner with the Small Business Development Center for our May event,” said Gretchen Bilbro, president of Locally Owned Murfreesboro. “The center offers great services from which all of our members can benefit. We are looking forward to learning more about this resource in our community.”

Swoner returns to Middle Tennessee after spending a decade working for Blizzard Entertainment in Irvine, Cali., where he started as a customer service representative and worked his way up to network operations technician and eventually the global network operations center associate manager.

Blizzard develops and operates the popular games like StarCraft, Diablo and Warcraft, including the mass multiplayer online role playing game World of Warcraft.

In 2016, Swoner joined the TSBDC, which provides resources and advice to small businesses in all stages of development.

For start-ups, the center business offers business plan development, financial planning assistance, marketing plan development, developing sources of capital and social media guidance

Murfreesboro office also provides existing business assistance like business growth planning, government contracting guidance and international trade guidance, sources of capital.

The Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce is located at 3050 Medical Center Parkway in Murfreesboro. The meeting will be held in the conference room on the third floor.
