Melissa Fulghum, F.N.P. Completes Board Certification in Advanced Diabetes Management

Melissa Fulghum, F.N.P joined Murfreesboro Medical Clinic in the Endocrinology department in 2017. Melissa has recently completed her Board Certification by the American Association of Diabetes Educators, making her Board Certified in Advanced Diabetes Management.

In addition to congratulating Melissa on this accomplishment, the Clinic recognizes her continued interest and passion in the care of the diabetic patient. This includes new treatment options, such as the newest technology in insulin delivery systems and glucose monitoring.

Melissa works closely with Dr. James K. Rone, who shares, “Diabetes is epidemic in Tennessee, in the US, and worldwide (8.5% of all human adults, according to the World Health Organization). Its management demands thoughtful picking and choosing, mixing and matching from a panoply of pharmaceuticals, and hi-tech devices devoted to metabolic monitoring and drug administration. It has long been recognized that specialty physicians teamed with advanced-practice nurses perform these complex functions best.
