Middle Tennessee Electric Suspends Disconnections Amid Heat Wave
As high temperatures are predicted for the remainder of this week, Middle Tennessee Electric (MTE) announced Wednesday it would suspend disconnections for non-payment until July 6.
With temperatures in Middle Tennessee expected to soar into the upper 90s, MTE encourages members to take steps to reduce energy usage and save money on future electric bills. MTE recommends visiting mte.com/EnergyTips for more information and utilizing the free myMTE app to monitor hourly and daily energy usage. Members can view when the most energy is being used and if it directly correlates with temperatures or other electricity usage.
MTE also recommends members enroll in Levelized Billing to help ease the swings that occur when extreme temperatures cause the use of large amounts of energy.
Members are encouraged to reach out if they have questions or are having trouble paying their bills. Contact MTE at 877-777-9020 or through the online portal at mte.com to learn more.
