MTSU Breaks Ground on $56.5 Million Womack Commons Student Housing Project
Middle Tennessee State University has officially broken ground on a major new student housing development. The 56.5 million dollar Womack Commons project is a public private partnership between MTSU and The Annex Group, designed to help meet the growing demand for on-campus housing.
The development will feature 554 beds across a 161,000 square foot, five-story building. Students can expect a mix of pod-style and semi-suite living options, with single, double, and multi-person occupancy units. Amenities will include study areas, lounges, kitchens, and laundry facilities to support a comfortable and modern student lifestyle.
Womack Commons will be built on a 2.5 acre portion of the existing Womack Lane housing site, while preserving approximately 11 acres for future housing and parking expansion. A new parking garage with 541 spaces, along with an additional 52 surface spaces, will be constructed to accommodate residents.
The project is expected to be completed by Summer 2027, marking another big step forward for MTSU’s campus growth.
