MTSU Priority Registration runs from Nov. 2-13 for Winter Session, Spring Term
Current MTSU students will soon have an opportunity to get their choice of classes during Priority Registration for the upcoming spring 2021 academic term and new Winter Session at MTSU.
Priority Registration will begin Monday, Nov. 2, and run through Friday, Nov. 13.
Students can access the MTSU Registration Guide for more information about the Spring 2021 semester and a complete list of dates and deadlines at http://mtsu.edu/registration/registration-guide.php. They should also contact their adviser for assistance choosing the classes they need.
This year, students are also able to sign up for new Winter Session courses when they register for their spring classes. More information about Winter Session can be found here: https://mtsu.edu/registration/winter.php.
Tyler Henson, director of the MT One Stop, recommends students make wise class choices and to attend those classes after the spring semester begins.
“You want to make sure you are choosing classes that count for your degree requirements,” Henson said. “Taking classes that are not toward your degree could impact financial aid. Students’ advisers can help make sure they are staying on track.”
In the spring, because of ongoing public health precautions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, in-person, hybrid and remote classes will be offered.
“We’re still offering a wide variety of course types to help students continue their studies despite restrictions to space on campus,” Henson said. “Students will find that many instructors are designing their classes to work in a remote delivery setting given the situation, even though such classes are not normally delivered online.”
Henson said priority registration for spring is very important for current students because it gets them registered before new students to the institution. It also helps them get the classes and times they need to work around their schedules.
“Those who wait risk losing their seats as early as the Monday after Priority Registration, when new students can register for spring courses,” he added, “so it’s in their best interest to register at their assigned time and not wait until January to sign up for spring classes.”
MTSU offers more than 300 combined undergraduate and graduate programs.
