Murder suspect, missing teen in custody in Nashville after manhunt

A 28-year-old man wanted for murder and in connection to an ongoing AMBER Alert has been taken into police custody in Nashville.

Daniel Clark was found in a wood line at Old Hickory Boulevard and Charlotte Pike. Missing Trinity Quinn, who had been missing since Tuesday and was at the center on the AMBER Alert, was with him.

Police said they were notified of Quinn’s whereabouts after a dump truck driver saw her standing on the side of the road and called them.

Both Clark and Quinn, who is from Dayton, Tennessee, were taken into custody without incident. Police said they are both considered homicide suspects and have been taken to the police station for questioning.

Police had been searching for Clark after a West Nashville clerk was shot and killed Tuesday night at an Exxon station on the corner of Charlotte Pike and Davidson Road.

Authorities said he and Quinn, 15, entered the store and appeared to shop before Clark pulled out a weapon and allegedly shot Stevens.

Upon their arrival to the gas station, police found 58-year-old John Stevens fatally wounded and have called his murder a “brutal homicide.”

Clark’s vehicle was later found and police believed the two were on foot prompting an hours long manhunt.

Prior to being found around 10:30 a.m., the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation had added Clark to the state’s “Most Wanted” list.

It is unclear what charges he faces.

The Department of Children’s Services has been notified.
