“We are excited to welcome a new group of military-connected students to MTSU,” said Hilary Miller, center director. “While the Newcomers Briefing is always a valuable way to begin the semester, I think it is particularly important for the spring term.

“Starting at a new school in January can be challenging. Attending the Newcomers Briefing is great way to ensure that you are squared away and ready for the academic mission that lies head. Family and friends are welcome.”

Miller and her staff are targeting new-to-MTSU student veterans and family members, but it is open to all student veterans and their families, she said.

Retired U.S. Army Lt. Gen. Keith M. Huber, senior adviser for veterans and leadership initiatives, will speak during the event.

The Daniels Center supports more than 1,100 student veterans and family members and is the largest and most comprehensive veterans center on any Tennessee higher education campus. It is located in Keathley University Center Rooms 124 and 316. MTSU’s spring semester begins Tuesday, Jan. 21.
