Officer Involved Shooting – Jesse Caldwell capture

Officer Phillip Simpson has been placed on administrative leave with pay pending the outcome of an ongoing Tennessee Bureau of Investigations review of an officer involved shooting. This shooting stems from the apprehension of Bedford County fugitive Jesse Caldwell.

In addition to the original charges of Aggravated Burglary, Criminal Attempted Aggravated
Robbery and Theft over $10,000 in Bedford County, Jesse Caldwell is charged with Escape, Driving on Revoked License, Evading Arrest by Motor Vehicle, and Violation of Community Corrections in Rutherford County.

He is being held at the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Department under $12,000 bond and has a hold for Bedford County.

Officer Simpson has been employed by the Murfreesboro Police Department since 2013.
