OHS Senior Naomi Summey is University of Kentucky Singletary Scholar
Oakland High School Senior Naomi Summey has been selected as a University of Kentucky Singletary Scholar. Naomi was selected for one of 25 awards from a pool of over 2600 students. The award is a full tuition scholarship along with a two-year housing stipend. Naomi is an International Baccalaureate diploma candidate and is the all-student body president at OHS.
The Otis A. Singletary award supports the scholars’ potential to lead lives of intellect, integrity, and service. The Singletary Scholarship Experience aims to cultivate the individual leadership capacity of Scholars via direct service-learning, dynamic classroom discussions, conversations with community leaders, and collaborative social-entrepreneurship.
