Operation “Fill the Gym” encourages donations for the Nourish Food Bank

Youth members of McFadden Community Center are encouraging Murfreesboro residents to donate food and other supplies through their “Operation: Fill the Gym” event. Donations will be accepted Saturday, March 14 from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the center located at 211 Bridge Avenue.c

“Donations will help our neighbors combat hunger,” said Priscilla Murray, event organizer at the community center. “We hope to provide necessary items for low income children and families.”

Requested food items include cereals, juice and juice boxes, canned meats, jelly, spaghetti sauce, soup, pasta, and breakfast bars. Baby items such as diapers, wipes and baby food are also on the list, as well as hygiene products and pet food.
