Police are investigating a shooting at a Murfreesboro apartment located not too far from Middle Tennessee State University Tuesday afternoon.
It happened just after 1:30 p.m. at the Student Quarters Apartment on Greenland Drive.
Police said one person was shot and the suspect ran on foot towards Highland Avenue.
The victim was taken to St. Thomas Rutherford with non-life threatening injuries.
Police said it was reported a second person may have also been injured but left the scene before officers arrived.
K-9 units assisted in the search for the suspect who remains at large. He is described as a black man who was last seen wearing a black shirt and black jeans.
Police said there is the possibility of a second suspect.
A large police presence remains on the scene and a portion of the complex’s parking lot is blocked off with crime tape.
