RCS Bands ‘Superior’ at Concert Performance Assessment
Ensembles perform during Middle Tennessee Band and Orchestra Association concert
Bands from Rutherford County Schools recently participated in the Middle Tennessee Band and Orchestra Association’s Concert Performance Assessment (CPA).
Performances at CPA serve as summative assessments for musical ensembles. Each group performs for a panel of judges and is evaluated on prepared music performance as well as the ability to read and perform never-before-seen music.
Ensembles are rated on a scale of 1-5, with 1 being a Superior rating – the highest rating possible. The performances took place at Middle Tennessee State University.
All participating RCS band programs received a rating of Superior or Excellent at the MTSBOA Concert Performance Assessment. These groups include:
- Christiana Middle School 7th and 8th Grade Band
- LaVergne High School Concert Band
- LaVergne High School Wind Ensemble
- Riverdale High School Symphonic Band
- Riverdale High School Wind Ensemble
- Rockvale Middle School Band
- Rockvale High School Symphonic Band
- Rockvale High School Wind Ensemble
- Rocky Fork Middle School 7th and 8th Grade Band
- Siegel Middle School Concert Band
- Siegel Middle School Symphonic Band
- Siegel High School Symphonic Band
- Siegel High School Wind Ensemble
- Smyrna High School Freshman Band
- Smyrna High School Concert Band
- Stewarts Creek Middle School 7th and 8th Grade Select Ensemble
- Stewarts Creek High School Concert Band
- Stewarts Creek High School Wind Ensemble
The following ensembles received “Straight 1s” or Superior Ratings, the highest scores attainable at CPA:
