RCS STEM Expo featured Nearly 100 Student Projects

Rutherford County Schools held its second annual STEM Expo Night on Friday evening at Stewarts Creek High School.

The countywide event was highlighted by nearly 100 student projects representing grades 6-12.

Students presented original research developed from a complex question, problem or challenge. Projects were categorized as STEM Research, Engineering I, Technology or Agricultural STEM.

STEM Research included science, mathematics, engineering, biotechnology or medical / veterinary medicine.

Engineering I included mechanical, industrial, civil, aerospace, automotive, environmental, biomedical, chemical or electrical engineering, while technology included computer programming, games, designing applications or designing websites.

Agricultural STEM included farming and animal husbandry.

The four-hour expo, which included individual and team enteries, followed the same guidelines as the Middle Tennessee STEM Expo being hosted Wednesday by the Middle Tennessee Innovation HUB at MTSU.
